Capital Bocce is pleased to announce the Bocce for Hunger Tournament, a one day Bocce tournament, played World Cup style that will feature group play (3 games min for each team) and a knock out round. The event will be held on April 20 at John Marshall Park in DC, near the Canadian Embassy. Capital Bocce is part of a bigger organization of Bocce aficionados that will encompass teams from Leagues in Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and various other Metropolitan areas. Several hundred Bocce players from all over the Country are expected to attend this year’s event. A must attend tournament for Bocce aficionados and novices alike, Bocce for Hunger will offer a memorable event that is uniquely DC! Capital Bocce is thrilled to announce a partnership with Move for Hunger, a non-profit organization that works with relocation companies across North America to pick up unwanted, unopened food from those who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks. To date, Move for Hunger is working with over 420 movers in 46 states and has collected more than one million pounds of food. For more information or to find out how you can help support Move For Hunger, visit www.MoveForHunger.org. The Tournament will start at 11am, with each team playing a minimum of 3 games. The top teams will move on to the knockout round, with a “Champions League” Trophy going to the Tournament winner. Players will have the gratification of knowing that their participation and non-perishable food items will help families in the DC Metropolitan area put food on their tables during a time when so many are going without. Contenders will be handsomely rewarded with an after-party hosted by Capital Bocce at Penn Social, complete with games of Bocce ball, Cornhole, Skeeball as well as other fun activities, live DJ, prize giveaways, awards ceremony, beer and much more! We will share more details as the tournament agenda is finalized.
