DC's Best Bocce League

FAQ

Question: Why play in the Capital Bocce League?

Answer:

This league was created to give people a chance to try something new while meeting new people and having a great time doing it, all the while enjoying the old Italian game of Bocce. This league is great for beginners and experts.

Question: I have a group of friends who want to play. How can we make sure we’re on the same team?

Answer:

Your ring leader simply forms a new group during the registration process. Once they’re registered, everyone simply registers under that group/team. Easy Peasy! It doesn’t matter how small your group is, we’ll keep your buddies together when we merge and finalize teams.

Question: What if I don’t know anyone in the Bocce league? Can I still play?

Answer:

Absolutely! A large majority of Capital Bocce players sign up as independents or in smaller groups. Once registration for a division is closed, we merge all free agents and small groups into bigger teams. Right off the bat, you’ll get to meet ~6 to 12 new peeps from your team alone, not to mention all the other players from the other teams as the season plays out! Capital Bocce is the EASIEST way to meet people and make new friends!

Question : How many players are on a roster?

Five (5) players on your roster guarantees your team a place in the league however ANY TEAM with less than six (6) players on their roster is eligible to have additional players (1-3) placed with them by the league. Any Team with six (6) or more players will be able to opt IN or opt OUT of additional players.

This policy is an important tool to ensure that DC Fray is able to welcome individuals and small groups who are new in town or are otherwise unable to field full teams. It also helps ensure that each team is of adequate size to prevent forfeits and to help ensure a fun and social environment it also helps spread the love of Cap Bocce and ensures our league has a healthy number of new players!

Question: How do rain outs and game cancellations work?
Answer:

We will post Weather updates on our Facebook and Twitter pages. We also have a weather hotline on the top of the web page.
